The Rutgers S.A.F.E.T.Y. Clinic (Sports Awareness for Educating Today's Youth) is a 3 hour program that meets the "Minimum Standards for Volunteer Coaches Safety Orientation and Training Skills Programs" (N.J.A.C.5:52) and provides a partial civil immunity protection to volunteer coaches under the "Little League Law" (2A:62A-6 et. seq.).Check in begins at 6:00 PM and ends at 6:15 PM. All participants MUST be in the building and classroom by 6:15 PM or NO ENTRY permitted, NO REFUNDS will be granted for tardiness.The class is located at the Community Arts Center at 721 Cranbury Road.
This is a three and a half hour certification course. All individuals taking this course will need to be 15 years of age by the time the course begins. They will be trained in Standard CPR (for adult, child and infant), Standard AED (for adult, child and infant), and Standard First Aid. The course is hands on and interactive. The certification is valid for 2 years and is issued under the Emergency Care and Safety Institute (ECSI) name.
The East Brunswick Police Department will be hosting a Citizen Police Academy open to East Brunswick residents and business owners. Demonstrations and activities will be instructed by various members of the East Brunswick Police Department, and will include information on Crime Prevention and Neighborhood Watch Groups, Gun Safety, Terrorism, Computer Crimes and the Internet, Crime Scene Investigation, Patrol Techniques, and more. Demonstrations from our SWAT team and Motorcycle Officers.Participants will learn information about the inner workings of the EBPD and gain a better understanding of the police profession and how they can help the police keep our community safe.The academy has a limited amount of seats, which will be filled on a first come, first serve basis, and all attendees must submit to and pass a brief background check.
